Impact of Trump's personality on Foreign Policy?

Post by silmcoach »

So, Trump-Kim talks have broken down over the complete removal of sanctions. You have to ask whether events back home in the US were felt by the North Koreans to strengthen their hand? Might they have felt that President Trump would want a successful outcome for the talks to counter negative events at home, and so thought they could push a bit harder?

The major decisions made in the smaller business enterprise, or in one's own life generally, will be influenced by the personality of the decision maker. It is therefore prudent to take a step back and try to assess just how much aspects of personality are influencing, to advantage or disadvantage, what should be purely rational decisions based upon business fundamentals.

It will be interesting to see whether China's stance in the current trade negotiations change. Might they now think President Trump is vulnerable, and their hand strengthened somewhat? Irrelevant. Just been announced that "In accordance with the president's direction"... the US formally suspends China tariff increase until further notice. Guess that decision avoids the risk of any negotiator appearing to fail, again!
